Description
The South Gate-Lodge at Camperdown House in Dundee was likely designed by William Burn around 1824 to 1830. This single-storey lodge features a layout of one by three bays and is positioned at right angles to Liff Road. The western elevation is made of coursed and squared rubble, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble. There is a later porch at the rear with a piended roof, along with additional modern extensions.
The lodge has a slate roof that is piended with broad overhanging eaves. The gable ends have square section stacks for the cornices. The windows were shuttered in 1989.
There is an adjacent boundary wall made of rubble with coping, which includes a pedestrian door. The entrance is curved, but the gatepiers are missing.
