Stables (Centre Range), Camperdown House, Dundee

The South Range stables of Camperdown House in Dundee were built around 1824-1830 and include masonry from Lundie House, which dates back to 1540. This large U-shaped, single-storey structure is constructed of rubble and features a fourth range added to the east around 1946-1950, which is pebbledashed and has a gabled slate roof.

The north and south coach-house ranges face the courtyard and each has three depressed arched cart entries with hinged timber doors. There are also three smaller doors and windows on the west side. A clock that was originally located on the north coach-house was removed around 1990. The south coach-house has a harled finish.

On the central range's east elevation, there are four double-leaf doors, each flanked by two windows, and a larger blocked door to the north. The west elevation features two windows to the north and two modern entrances with sliding doors. A 16th-century red sandstone lancet gunloop is built into the wall.

The roofs are piended and covered with slate, and the mid-range includes cast-iron skylights and inverted-V ventilators. The windows are sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern.
