Description
The Old Stable and Tackman's House at Camperdown House in Dundee was likely designed by William Burn around 1824 to 1830. This long, single-storey stable range is built from rubble and features small windows along with both small and large doors. The rear elevation is nearly blind, with only a few small hinged openings and blind gables. Adjoining to the east is the Tackman's House, which now serves as a harness store. This part has a symmetrical three-bay front made of ashlar, with a central door and corniced gable end stacks.
The building has a slate roof with overhanging eaves, skylights, and small ridge ventilators for the stable. The windows are sash and case, featuring a 12-pane glazing pattern.
Inside, the stalls are likely not original.
