Description

  1. 2-storey, 3-bay former Episcopal Chapel, altered to form 2 shops and bar. Ashlar sandstone to front (stonecleaned), rubble to rear, ashlar dressings, slate roof, piended to rear. 3-light pointed windows with timber tracery, altered to flat-headed at front with modern frames.

FRONT ELEVATION: 2-leaf door to centre with fanlight, moulded Tudor-arch doorcase flanked by cast-iron cluster columns, modern shopfront to left and right, full width moulded cornice and band course; 3 large windows to 1st floor, coped parapet with stepped angle dies and 4 pendant dies.

REAR ELEVATION: nave advanced from street front block, canted apse to centre with 2-light pointed window, 2 windows to left and right return elevations.

INTERIOR: modern ground floor and false ceiling, concealing original ribbed cove ceiling and apse arch.
