Description

Late 18th century. 3-storey and basement, rectangular-plan commercial building built on falling ground. Random rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings, piended grey slate roof. Mostly 12-pane timber sash and case glazing, re-cast margins to S gable; corniced wallhead stacks (cut-down at N gable).

W ELEVATION: door to right, 2 basement windows to left, 4 small windows to ground floor with 2nd window from right having lower cill and formed as (former) goods entrance or door, 4 windows to 1st floor, 3 to 2nd.

E ELEVATION: probably original front elevation now mostly masked by 145 Nethergate. 3 windows visible to right hand bay with further window to left at 2nd floor.

S GABLE: modern door to right with 2 stair windows above, blocked basement window to left with further basement window above (modern vertical glazing as door), window to 1st and 2nd floor.

N GABLE: blank.

INTERIOR: not seen.
