Description
Dungarth is a detached villa built around 1850, featuring a two-storey, three-bay façade made of ashlar stone with raised quoin ends and margins, while the sides and rear are constructed from rubble. The south elevation has a central bay that projects slightly forward and includes a Roman Doric columned porch, a shallow moulded cornice, and a blocking course. The left bay has been rebuilt into a four-light semi-lozenge bay, and the right-hand ground floor window has been altered to a corniced bipartite window, dating from around 1860. The later windows have single-pane sashes, while the original windows feature two-pane sashes. The roof is piended and platformed, with end stacks covered in slate.
Inside, the living room showcases a painted frieze depicting a Venetian canal-scape. The property is enclosed by a railed dwarf garden wall with a gate set at an angle, featuring chamfered piers topped with moulded copes that support an exceptionally crafted wrought-iron overthrow arch and gate.
