Description

6 Constitution Terrace in Dundee is a two-storey terrace building designed by James MacLaren and dated 1851, featuring a neo-Jacobean ashlar front. The original design includes a nearly symmetrical seven-bay front, with the center house slightly advanced. It has an elaborate lugged doorpiece with a strap-work top and a single-light window above it. To the left, there is a four-light canted bay, and to the right, a three-light rectangular bay, both of which were raised to two-storeys later. The end houses have slightly advanced end bays with curvilinear gables, although the finials are missing.

The ground floor features corniced architraved and aproned bipartite windows in the second and fifth bays, which have been replaced by a two-storey canted bay with a pedimental blocking course at No. 6. A picturesque scroll pedimented dormer is present at No. 10. The side porches are set back at the ends of the terrace.

The roofs are slate, and there are two corniced ashlar ridge stacks. The windows are sash and case with two and four-pane glazing patterns. The front of the property has low boundary walls, while the rear features high walls with three octagonal cast-iron gatepiers topped with ogee designs.
