Ward Foundry Office, 7 Guthrie Street, Dundee

The Ward Foundry Office, located at 7 Guthrie Street in Dundee, was built between 1891 and 1892 by C and L Ower. This two-storey building is constructed of ashlar stone with polished dressings set on a rubble base. It features a prominent corner entrance that is highlighted by pilasters and an arched doorpiece with a keystone and cornice. Narrow flanking windows are framed in architraves. On the first floor, there are paired round-headed windows with pilastered archivolts. The main cornice is topped with a simplified pediment.

On the south elevation, the ground floor has three tripartite windows within an architrave, with a band course above. The first floor features five round-headed windows with aprons and an impost level string course. A scrolled wallhead stack is present. The west elevation has similar details to the south elevation.

Inside, the original features are mostly obscured by false ceilings, but some cornices and the staircase remain visible. The drawing room originally had a wide arched laminated timber roof, which is now hidden.
