Pitkerro Mill, Kellas Road, Dundee

Pitkerro Mill, located on Kellas Road in Dundee, was founded in 1589 and largely rebuilt in 1812. It underwent re-equipping in 1908 and was converted into a house in 1987. The building features datestones from 1590, 1734, and notes that it was rebuilt in 1812 and remodeled in 1908. It is a rubble-built corn mill.

The mill is a rectangular, three-storey structure with one by four bays. It has a piend-roofed kiln on the east side, which includes a segmental arched firebox to the south. Some small windows have been blocked, while larger windows have been inserted. A few original openings to the mill have been reopened as windows and doors. A small portion of the granary remains at the northeast corner, which has been reduced from three storeys to one.

An overshot cast-iron wheel with a square axle is located in an ashlar hoodmoulded wheel-pit at the west gable. Adjoining to the west is a single-storey and attic gabled rectangular-plan threshing mill, which is powered by the same wheel.

The roof is slate, and there are new Velux and casement windows. Inside, most of the machinery, including two pairs of stones for a pot barley mill, was present but not operational in 1986. The kiln featured iron plates on a wire floor.
