Description

This is a mid-18th century, two-storey, three-bay manse, with later alterations and additions. The original building is mainly rubble-built with ashlar margins, with the east gable and south elevation being harled. Small-paned sash windows are found throughout. Slate roofs cover the structure.

The south elevation has been altered with 19th-century window openings, retaining only two bipartite windows at ground floor level. Original first-floor windows remain, with chamfered margins, one in each gable. A moulded main cornice is also likely original. Skews and end stacks, along with the north-east rear wing, possibly date to around 1795.

A north-east wing, built circa 1840 in the style of Walter Newall, projects from the east gable. It features a recessed panelled door with a small-paned fanlight, and mullioned windows with lying-panes. A corniced end stack with coped flues is present on this wing. A modern timber porch connects low rear ranges.

A rectangular-plan barn, likely built in the second half of the 18th century, stands to the north and is now partly used as a garage. It has square-headed openings and slit ventilators. A walled garden is situated to the west.

A rebuilt gateway incorporates re-used early 19th-century cast-iron railings.
