Description
West Cluden is a corn mill, likely built in the mid-18th century. It is a tall, single-storey building with a loft, set on a boulder base which is now covered with smooth render. The walls are rubble-built, and there is a lower brick addition to the west gable, now used as a garage. The east gable has an off-centre door at ground level, with a broken mill-wheel forming the threshold, and a single window alongside. A centrally placed loft door sits above. A door at the west end of the long north wall is flanked by small square windows. The roof is slated, with straight skews and three skylights on each side, and it sweeps over a lean-to at the south. The addition also has a slated roof and a ball finial on each gable.
