Cluden Bank, East Cluden

Cluden Bank is a house dating from around 1800. It is a single-story building with an attic, featuring three bays and built over a raised basement. The house is constructed of painted, droved ashlar with rusticated quoins above a continuous band at basement lintel level.

The east elevation is characterised by a central, pilastered doorpiece reached by steps, leading to a round-headed doorway with a panelled door and a fanlight featuring intersecting tracery. Single windows are located in the outer bays; upper windows have six-pane sashes, while basement windows have twelve panes. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is swept, with inner and canted dormers, and a later gabled dormer, all featuring decorative bargeboards. Corniced end stacks rise from the roof, and it is covered in slate. The west wall also has twelve-pane sashes, with a stair window breaking the horizontal band course. A garage opening has been inserted into the north gable.
