Description
32 Church Crescent in Dumfries is a mid-19th century, two-storey gusset block that features a continuous glazed shop front from around 1910, which curves inward behind two Ionic columns that support a canted angle. The main shop door is located behind this area. The building is constructed of red ashlar, and the shop windows have small-paned upper lights. There are two additional small shops facing Church Crescent. The first-floor windows are sashes, with some being blind, and most have small-paned glazing. The long elevation facing Queensberry Street consists of eight bays (five plus three) and includes two dormers above a five-bay range made of droved ashlar. The building has corniced axial stacks, and the roof is piended over the canted angle, covered with graded slates.
