Description
This building, located at 142 Queensberry Street in Dumfries, was constructed in 1873 and is a three-storey tenement that follows the curve of the street. The ground floor features shops, and the building has seven bays. The second and fifth bays are slightly advanced and gabled, while the seventh bay is narrower, featuring one less window. The exterior is finished in polished red ashlar.
On the first floor, the windows are aproned, segmental-arched bipartites with columned mullions, all set back in shallow square panels. The third floor has tripartite windows. Horizontal strings separate the floors, and there are blocked eaves. The building has corniced stacks located at or below the apex of the roof, which is slated.
