Description

This is an 18th-century sundial, located at Capenoch House. The sundial features a circular slate dial and an iron gnomon mounted on a squat, square pedestal constructed from pink ashlar stone. The dial is inscribed with the words "William Howatson (?), schoolmaster, Penpont, fecit, 1792".
