Description

The bridge, probably designed by David Bryce around 1860, is a single segmental arch that carries the main drive to Capenoch House across the Shinnel Water. It is a functional bridge, providing a level roadway. The visible stonework is bull-faced red ashlar with rusticated voussoirs. The straight parapets are constructed of pink ashlar, topped with flat coping and simple square balusters. The bridge is located on North Drive and falls within Tynron Parish. Further information was published in COUNTRY LIFE on 13 August 1970.
