Description
This is a stone bridge built in the early 18th century, spanning the Polharrow burn. The bridge was constructed through the donation of Quentin Maclurg. It features two depressed arches, alongside a smaller flood arch to the north over land, with a total span of approximately 50 feet. The construction incorporates roughly squared voussoirs and springers with small V-cutwater buttresses located between the main spans. The spandrels, soffit, abutments, and parapets are all made of rubble stone. The parapets are finished with granite coping and include slightly splayed embrasures. The bridge is now disused and bypassed.
