Description
Old Garroch is a late 17th and early 18th century lairds house, with a taller, two-storey addition dating to the 19th century on its left side, and a single-storey addition to the right. The original block is constructed of painted rubble with roll-moulded margins. The irregular, four-bay front features a low, wide off-centre roll-moulded doorway, and has 12-pane sash and case windows. The roof was re-slated around 1980, and has coped axial stacks. The 19th-century addition, also constructed of painted rubble, includes large sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. A lean-to store is located adjacent to this addition. The rear elevation features single-storey lean-to additions. A stone slab is located in the farmyard, inscribed with the date 1633, but this date does not appear to be directly related to the house itself.
