Description
This is a mid-19th century building of two storeys and three narrow bays, located on Carlyle Place in Ecclefechan. The exterior is constructed of stugged, pinkish ashlar with polished dressings. The central bay features a recessed doorway. A large ground-floor window is present in the outer bay, with small panes of glass. The remaining windows are sash windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. Architectural details include an eaves band, a cornice, straight skews to the roof, end stacks, and a roof covered with graded slates. The building is listed for group value, contributing to the setting of Carlyle Place and P Quinn’s building on the High Street.
