Description

Carlyle House is a late 18th and early 19th century, two-storey and attic house with three bays. The exterior is painted ashlar, with sash windows; the first floor has small-paned windows and the ground floor features bipartites. A pedimented doorpiece is centrally placed, featuring Roman-Doric columns. The building has rusticated quoins, an eaves and lintel band, a cornice, straight skews, and rebuilt end stacks. It is capped by a slate roof. Small attic windows are set within the gable ends. The statutory address is Carlyle House, High Street, Ecclefechan Village.
