Taigh Breac, 19 Main Street, Mochrum

Taigh Breac is an earlier 19th-century cottage located at 19 Main Street in Mochrum. It is a single storey and attic structure with three bays, positioned at the end of a terraced row. The east elevation features Aberdeen bond, cherry-caulked masonry, and finely hewn course blocks of varied shades with whinstone pinning. The building has painted granite lintels, cills, and rybats, along with granite quoins on the south side.

The south elevation has a rendered battered base course and painted rubble.

On the east elevation, which faces Main Street, there is a centrally located doorway with a deep-set modern double-leaf door, accessed by several steps. Windows are present in the outer bays, and there are canted and piended dormer windows with small iron finials above these bays.

The south elevation is gabled and blank. The north elevation is adjoined to No 21 Main Street, which is listed separately. It features modern windows in the outer bays, granite coped skews shared with the north side, and broad rendered stacks, with a gablehead to the south that is mutual to the north. The roof is covered with graded grey slates.
