25 Main Street, Mochrum

25 Main Street in Mochrum is an earlier 19th-century single-storey and attic cottage with three bays, located at the end of a terraced row. The building features Aberdeen bond, cherry-caulked masonry from the cill level to the east, and its elevation is made of finely hewn coursed blocks in varied shades, with whinstone pinning. The lower part is constructed of random rubble up to the cill level, while granite lintels, cills, rybats, and quoins are present on the north side. The north elevation has painted rubble.

On the east elevation, which faces Main Street, there is a centrally located doorway with a modern door, and windows are found in the outer bays. Above these outer bays are canted and piended dormer windows, each topped with small iron finials.

The south elevation is adjoined to No 23 Main Street, while the north elevation is gabled and blank.

The windows feature 4-pane glazing in timber sash and case style, with 2-pane side lights in the dormer windows. The roof has granite coped skews that are mutual to the south, broad painted rubble stacks mutual to the south gablehead, and is covered with graded grey slates.
