Description
76 Main Street in Kirkcolm is a late 19th century single-storey and attic cottage that is part of a terrace. The building features a painted render finish and has painted architraved margins.
The east elevation facing Main Street has a central door with windows in the outer bays and gabled dormer windows above these outer bays. There are boundary walls on both the left and right sides.
The south elevation is adjoined to No 74 Main Street, while the north elevation is adjoined to No 78 Main Street. The cottage has margined glazing on the casements and fixed-light dormer windows, with mutual coped skew and gablehead stacks. The roof is covered with purple slates.
The property includes a low rendered boundary wall that encloses a small garden to the east and is continuous with the boundary wall of No 78 Main Street to the north. This wall is topped with iron spearhead railings and features an iron spearhead gate.
