Description

The Poacher's Rest is a low, two-storey, five-bay inn dating from the mid-18th century, with later alterations. It is situated at the end of an island site facing south. The building is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, with a pebble-dashed gable end facing the river. It features chamfered corners that are corbelled to a square at the first floor. The roof is covered with slate and has end stacks. The entrance is near the centre, flanked by four windows on the ground floor, while the first floor has five windows, all of which have been reglazed.
