Lochans Mill

Lochans Mill is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house that was associated with a corn mill, which has since been demolished. The exterior features painted render, rubble, and brick, with painted margins around the window openings.

On the south elevation, there is a central entrance that is pilastered and has a block pediment, leading to a glazed timber door. Above this entrance, there is a single window on the first floor, with regular fenestration in the flanking bays. The east elevation has a blank gable, while the west elevation features a blank gable on the right side and a recessed section on the left with single windows at both the ground and first floor that are not aligned.

The north elevation has a timber door at the center, with a single window aligned above it on the first floor. There is also a single window at the left re-entrant angle, and additional single windows at both the ground and first floor in a recessed bay to the outer left. The outer right side has a blank advanced gable, and there are single windows at both the ground and first floor at the left re-entrant angle.

The windows are primarily four-pane timber sash and case, although there is a modern window on the west elevation at ground level. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, coped stacks, and circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1999.
