Description
This is an earlier or mid-19th century ice house situated within the garden to the north of Craigdarroch House. It is a small, octagonal structure with a low, faceted slate roof. The exterior is constructed of stugged ashlar with polished dressings. There is a single opening on each face, some of which are blind. A hood-moulded, square-headed door faces west, while the alternate faces feature a cross-loop or a small, hood-moulded, square-headed light. The angles have margins, and there is an eaves band. The ice house is depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1856.
