Description
The lodge, built after 1856, is a single-story structure. It is constructed of painted rubble with margins and rusticated quoins. The west elevation is symmetrical with three bays, featuring a shallow, piended porch with channelled pilaster strips that act as quoins on the return elevations. It has eight-pane sash windows in the outer bays. The roof is piended and covered in platform slate, with a central corniced stack and two linked square flues. The south elevation has a similar bipartite window and a V-plan window.
The lodge is surrounded by corniced, square, polished ashlar gatepiers with curved caps, linked by curved low quadrant walls, simple iron railings and gates. It was not depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map of 1856.
