Description
9-11 Irish Street in Dumfries is a late 18th-century building that stands two storeys high and features three bays. The west elevation faces Whitesands and includes a raised basement and an attic. The exterior is pebble-dashed with painted margins.
The building has a tall, round-headed central doorway on Irish Street, which is approached by steps with an iron handrail. This doorway has a panelled door and a tall, traceried fanlight above it. The ground floor has modern glazing, while the first floor features sash windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern.
The roof has straight skews, end stacks, and is covered with slate. The Whitesands elevation also has steps leading to the central door and includes two box dormers.
