Description

Double pile house; earlier part a plain, south-facing,

altered 2-storey 3-bay late 18th/early 19th century house,

(lower) earlier 19th century single storey over basement

villa-type north block added. Painted rubble and ashlar

dressings, south elevation of addition rendered at ground

floor. Original house: canted outer bays (later 19th century

additions) to south linked by modern sun lounge; end stacks.

Addition: north-facing with bowed east wall; round-headed

windows with unusual looped glazing pattern; north elevation:

3 bays, inner bay slightly advanced with tetrastyle

pilastered and pedimented centrepiece, former central door

now a window (fanlight retained; steps spanning basement area

removed). Windows have pilastered jambs; base course;

cornice; blocking course; piended roof. Roofs slated. Spiked

cast-iron railings above basement area.
