Description

A Crombie, 1862-3. Gothic church with main gabled elevation

to street. Basically rectangular-plan with narrow flanking

shallow recessed bays (?enclosing stairs), 4-bay W flank

to Greyfriars Street. Red ashlar, with stepped buttresses.

Main elevation divided by buttresses into nave and aisles

and with continuous roof; cusped-headed recessed door

under tall gabled head; large traceried window above,

with string at cill level stepped over cusped-headed

aisle lights; gabletted and saw-toothed skews; slate roof

with gabled ventilators. Apse at E may replace traceried

window, low vestry and boiler house also at E.
