Description

Freeman and Ogilvy (Gilbert F M Ogilvy) of London. Dated 1901 late Scots Gothic, harled with freestone dressings and crowstepped gables. 5-bay nave, 3 light W windows, rectangular windows of 2 and 3 cusped lights and round arched porch on S flank, N door and 3 3 lights N flank. Small lozenges and slits at lower level. Massive ashlar buttress with set off rising into pinnacle at junction of anve and chancel S. Flank, 2-bay chancel rising high in falling site with S. Transeptal chamber, square headed. Windows of 2 cusped lights and large traceried E window. Similar buttress and flat roofed vestry on N. Slate roof, formerly of old stone slates cathedral pane glazing. Simple distinctive interior. Later hall, harled pedimented door, swept roof without crowsteps. Random rubble-built boundary walls.
