Description
17 Castle Street in Dumfries is an early 19th century building that stands three storeys tall and features three bays. The ground floor has a "Thomsonesque" shop front, characterized by Ionic columns, coupled outer pilasters, and a cornice adorned with antefixae. The upper floors are finished in painted droved ashlar, with rusticated quoins and margins. Each floor has single sash windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The building also includes an eaves and lintel band, a cornice, straight skews, and a slate roof.
