Description
The Buccleuch Arms, located on High Street in Moffat, is a building that likely dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It features a three-storey, four-bay front constructed of rubble with dressings. The windows are bipartite, with chamfered reveals and cornices at the ground floor, and segmental pediments on the first floor. There is a corbelled cill course on the second floor, which is adorned with finialled gablet heads. The building has shields positioned between the second-floor windows and pilaster quoins at the corners. The roof is gabled and slated, with stacks at the ends.
