Description
32 Charlotte Street in Stranraer is a two-storey, three-bay house built in 1841, designed in a T-plan with a prominent castellated central bay that extends above the eaves. The outer bays at the ground floor are constructed from block and sneck whinstone, while the central bay at the first floor features painted render. The outer bays at the first floor are raised in painted brick. The building includes a base course, a string course, painted margins, and hoodmoulds above the outer ground and central first floor windows.
On the south entrance elevation, there is an advanced broken pediment with a pilastered doorpiece, which features a timber and glass door and a trefoil-head fanlight. A plaque is positioned as an apron below a single window at the first floor, with single windows present at both the ground and first floors of the flanking bays.
The house has modern plate glass glazing and a grey slate piended roof, complemented by corniced brick stacks and circular cans. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1997.
