Description

1-2 Whitesands is a late 18th century tenement building that features shops on the ground floor. It stands three storeys tall with three bays facing Buccleuch Street and five bays along Whitesands. The exterior is finished in painted droved ashlar, and there is a block cornice beneath the eaves. The windows have been reglazed with single-pane sashes. The roof is covered in slate and has a piended design at the corner.
