Description
23 Buccleuch Street is a three-storey corner tenement building from the earlier to mid-19th century, featuring shops on the ground floor. It has five bays facing Buccleuch Street, three bays on Charlotte Street, and a single bay at the canted angle. The building is constructed of red ashlar stone, with a channelled finish at the ground level. There are cill bands at both the first and second floors, and the sash windows predominantly have a 12-pane glazing pattern. Additional architectural details include an eaves and lintel band, a cornice, and corniced stacks at the ends and wall heads, topped with a slate roof.
