Description
21-23 High Street in Lockerbie is a two-storey block built between 1880 and 1890, consisting of two three-bay sections. The ground floor features shops with original decorative shop fronts that include cast-iron columned shafts and patterned lintels. Although it was originally two separate three-bay shops, the door to the right is now blocked, and the space has been combined into one shop. The building is constructed of polished red ashlar with carved details, and it has a consoled cornice above the ground floor. The first floor has architraved single and bipartite segmental-arched windows fitted with plate glass sashes. There are end stacks and a slate roof. At the rear, earlier walling has been incorporated, along with two brick-built rear wings.
