Description

Violetbank Cottage, dated 1766, is a single-storey, three-bay cottage featuring a central door and a discreet modern addition at the rear (east). The cottage is built from rubble and is whitewashed, with contrasting painted chamfered ashlar margins. It has sash windows that now contain four-pane glazing. The eaves are moulded, and the straight skews and corniced end stacks are likely from the 19th century. The roof is covered with graded slates.
