Description
38 and 40 High Street in Sanquhar is a mid-19th century building that stands two storeys high and features three bays, with a butcher's shop located on the left side. The exterior is finished in painted stugged ashlar. The entrance includes a deeply recessed panelled door topped by a rectangular fanlight. The windows are fitted with plate glass sashes. The shop displays a late 19th or early 20th century fascia board and has a pictorial tiled door reveal with a painted panel. The building is topped with a cornice and has end stacks, with the roof covered in graded slates.
