Post Office, 41 High Street, Sanquhar

39 High Street in Sanquhar is a mid-18th century, two-storey, three-bay house that features a rare bow window on the right side, which serves as the Post Office. The building is constructed from coursed painted rubble with a raised base course. The bow shop window has plain raised surrounds and a cornice. The main entrance door is located in the center, with an additional door leading to the Post Office on the right (northwest).

At the rear (southwest) of the property, there are various later outbuildings, including a former mailroom housed in a two-storey block from the mid-18th century, as well as smaller single-storey ranges likely built in the mid-19th century.

The roof is pitched and covered with grey slates. The windows are timber sash and case style, featuring later plate glass, with small pane glazing in the bow shopfront. The building also has cast-iron rainwater goods.
