Description
Burnfoot is a late 18th-century farmhouse consisting of a two-storey, three-bay main block and a single-storey, attic rear wing. The front elevation is rendered with ashlar margins and dressings. The front of the farmhouse features a central door with a fanlight, set within cavetto reveals and a fluted frieze topped with a cornice. It has sash windows with four panes of glazing. Other features include an eaves course, dentilled cornice, straight roof slopes, end chimney stacks, and a slate roof. The rear wing has a piended roof, and a brick lean-to addition fills the re-entrant angle. A steading is not included in the listing. The building’s category was changed from B to C(S) on 12th July 1988.
