Description
Grahamshill is a farmhouse dated 1862, with a courtyard steading to the northeast. The roofs are all slate.
The farmhouse is L-shaped, incorporating earlier building materials. It is two storeys high with three bays, featuring an advanced gable on the left side and a central doorway with a panelled door and fanlight above. The exterior is constructed of red ashlar with long and short worked dressings, and the window openings have hood moulds. The windows are sash windows with lying-panes, some single-light and others bipartite. The eaves are blocked, and the roof skews run horizontally over the corners, with end stacks, one of which has been rebuilt in brick. The rear elevation, facing the courtyard, is of rubble construction.
The steading consists of buildings constructed from the mid-18th to 19th centuries. It includes an L-shaped block with a range along the roadside adjoining the northwest flank of the house. This section is primarily built of red sandstone and has a loft situated below the eaves. A free-standing, tall barn, possibly from the 18th century, is located to the southeast of the house and is constructed of brick on stone footings.
