Description

The Crockett Memorial in Laurieston is a tall monument built around 1914 to honor S R Crockett, a writer and local historian. It features a three-stage square plan. The base is made of squared mortared rubble, which supports a tall squared rubble pillar topped with a polished granite tablet. A cornice or corbel course of bull-nosed granite is located over the second stage, and the third stage rises to a solid arched dome.
