Description
The Clan Battle Monument in Clachnaharry, built in 1821, is a three-stage pillar monument. It features large droved ashlar blocks set on a flat-coped circular rubble base. The base is topped with six pyramidally-coped square-section pillars that alternate with inset, unusual axe-head railings. These railings enclose a rectangular plinth that is inscribed with 'CLANCHATTAN' on the south side and 'MUNRO' on the north side, along with an eroded Latin inscription.
