Dunolly, Clachnaharry Road, Clachnaharry, Inverness

Dunolly is a house built between 1805 and 1810, featuring two storeys and a symmetrical three-bay rectangular plan. It is connected at right angles to a single-storey, three-bay rectangular-plan cottage that dates from 1780 to 1800. The property is situated on raised ground, offering views of the Caledonian Canal and the railway bridge. The house is constructed with squared and coursed sandstone, with exposed pinning to the mortar joints and droved ashlar long and short dressings. The side elevations and the cottage are harled.

The main entrance has a central door with a rectangular fanlight above it. At the back of the house and cottage, there are two single-storey outbuildings, along with a lean-to extension on the north elevation of the house, all of which are rendered.

The windows are predominantly timber sash and case, featuring 12-pane glazing. The house has a piended slate roof with broad eaves and a central stack that is harled and coped. The cottage has a pitched slate roof with a tall, harled and coped end stack on the west gable.
