Description
Laurieston Hall Stables is a stable block built between 1840 and 1850. It consists of four single-storey ranges arranged around a cobbled courtyard. The south elevation is ornamental, featuring a central arched pend. Most of the stables, except for the west end of the south range, are in poor condition and partially roofless.
The building has harled rubble walling with granite dressings. The south elevation has 12 bays, with shallow advanced end bays that contain blocked basket-arch cart entrances. The inner three bays have a recessed arched niche flanked by windows, while the advanced centre bay features a depressed-arch pend. Above the pend is a squat clock tower topped with small granite obelisk finials.
The three enclosing ranges are made of rough rubble and have undergone many alterations to their openings.
