Description

John Starforth, dated 1885. 2-storey asymmetrically planned

manse with Gothic details. Snecked red sandstone rubble with

polished dressings. Entrance front with 2-bay advanced gabled

centre and door recessed under moulded pointed arch, good

panelled door. Window reveals chamfered mainly mullioned and

transomed with shouldered heads, some with hoodmoulds. Lower

wing to north. South (garden) elevation 2 irregular, gabled

bays one with shallow advanced, 2-storey rectangular window

projection. Gabled, slate roofs with saw-toothed skews; tall

paired, moulded flues.
