25 Winton Loan, Fairmilehead, Edinburgh

25 Winton Loan is a single-storey cottage from the earlier to mid-19th century, which was formerly part of a terrace of two or three farmworkers' cottages. The building is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble, featuring stugged and droved arrises and dressings, with coped gables.

On the east (principal) elevation, there is an entrance with a boarded timber door located to the left of centre, alongside a former entrance to the left that is now blocked. There are two windows to the left and two irregularly placed windows to the right, all with long and short surrounds.

The west (rear) elevation has five windows, with the central one being smaller. The two windows on the right are narrower and also feature long and short surrounds.

The north and south elevations have blind gable ends, except for one small window on the south elevation, which may have been inserted later. The cottage mainly has 8-pane timber sash and case windows and is topped with a grey slate roof. There are two corniced stugged ashlar gablehead stacks and two ridge stacks, one of which is corniced stugged ashlar while the other is harled and coped with round cans. The building also has cast iron rainwater goods.

The interiors have not been inspected since 1997.
