Description

Late 18th to early 19th century with later alterations and additions. 2-storey, 3-bay with single storey flanking pavilions. Squared sandstone to NE elevation; rubble to side elevations and rear; later harled addition to outer left, rear elevation. Base course, cornice and blocking course; cornice; coped blocking course to pavilions.

NE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: 4 steps with original cast-iron plain handrails to 6-panelled door to centre, 3-pane fanlight above and window at 1st floor. Windows to each floor and in each bay of flanking bays and to pavilions; panelled door now to centre of right pavilion.

SW (REAR) ELEVATION: door to outer right, SE pavilion; single storey with attic addition to outer left, NW pavilion.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended roof with rendered and coped wallhead stacks to NW and SE elevations. Mansard roof to rear addition.

INTERIOR: all shutters in situ and functioning; delicate cast-iron balustrade to twisting staircase; segmental-bowed rear wall to front room, to left of entrance, with original plasterwork.

BOUNDARY WALLS: tall rubble to sides and rear; low quadrant walls with later railings to street.
