Description
North Lodge, located in Foxhall, Edinburgh, is an early 19th-century Gothick lodge with a symmetrical, rectangular plan and three bays. The building is constructed of random rubble with margins and features hoodmoulds. It has a pedimented porch supported by Doric columns at the center, leading to a round-arched opening with a boarded door. On either side of the porch are bipartite pointed arch windows, which have Y-tracery glazing divided into ten panes by transoms. The lodge has a grey slate roof that is both piend and platformed, with paired circular cans at the center of the ridge. There are modern additions to the rear and side of the building.
